  • Strange behaviour with multiple default reply addresses

i operate a mail server that accepts email for 2 domains:
    abc.com
    def.net

The server operates for the time being with dynamic ip/dyndns and a ttl of 1 min for dns records.

I want some users to NOT use the default email address policy (that uses abc.net) and use the def.net domain. When i change this on the user's account his reply address on the outoing mails is <alias>.something.dyndns.org. If the default reply address is used everything works fine.

I know that it is not best practice to use public IPs on mail servers but this has to work until we buy a range from our isp.

    any ideas?
