      Do you have a PTR record in your public DNS for your email server? Do you have an SPF record set up in your public DNS?

        Re: 421 invalid sender domain error

        I contacted my ISP/DNS host (Net Solutions) and they really didn't understand the entire SPF record, but this was all I had to enter in the Text column

        "v=spf1"

        not sure if that is going to resolve my problem....and neither did they.

          You haven't actually created an SPF record yet. you've simply defined the TXT record as an SPF record but not given it any parameters. There are a couple of SPF "generation" wizards you can run to generate the SPF record for you.

          http://old.openspf.org/wizard.html

            Re: 421 invalid sender domain error

            thanks for the Links, I used Microsoft's and this is what I came up with.

            v=spf1 mx mx:in.sjc.mx.trendmicro.com ~all

            so now in my isp/dns settings I have the following

            Host: *(all others)
            TTL: 7200
            Text: v=spf1 mx mx:in.sjc.mx.trendmicro.com ~all

            Host: @ (none)
            TTL: 7200
            Text: v=spf1 mx mx:in.sjc.mx.trendmicro.com ~all

              Re: 421 invalid sender domain error

              If your email goes through trendmicro then I think it's all good.

                yes, we use Trend for Spaming, works great.

                Ok I just doubled checked the Q and mail is flowing out of the two mentioned domains. Thanks for all of your help and that link.

                Hopefully this will do the trick.
