  • PFs and CCR...

    Hi All,

First post and apologies if this has been answered before...but have not found anything which addresses quite the following scenario.

I am aware of the single PF in a CCr environment and the fact that PF replication is disabled, but if I have an Exchnage ebvironment spanning 2 countries and each country has their own PF structure which is not being replicated between themselves, is it possible to have a CCR with PF in country 1, and then a CCR & PF in country 2?

The only other solution I have come up with is hosting the PF's on the Hub/CAServer instead...has anyone had any experience of whether this is a good or bad idea?

    Many thanks
    V.

    Re: PFs and CCR...

The simple rule is one or the other.
If you have public folders on the CCR then you cannot have public folders anywhere else.
If you want to have public folders elsewhere then you cannot have them on the CCR system.

Therefore you will need to have a separate public folder server, which will mean another server with the mailbox role.

      Hi Simon,

Thanks for this, was what I thought was only curious with the fact that I had 2 separate CCR environments.

      Cheers

In that scenario I would say that you will need to have separate public folder stores. You cannot replicate the public folder to other servers using CCR.

You could probably run two separate public folder instances, but then you will have problems with OAB and free/busy information, as only one server can generate that.
