  • Exchange transition from 2k3 to 2k7

    Hi all,

New user here - so please be gentle!

I'm shortly to do my first transition from Exchange 2003 to 2007. Our existing infrastructure comprises of a Exc2003 front end server (OWA and Activesync) and a single backend, SAN connected Exc2003 server.

I know that the first thing to migrate is the FE to a CAS server, but are there any problems in leaving the FE server and a new CAS server in place together for a few weeks whilst testing of the Activesync clients is carried out? Will the existence of FE and CAS servers in the Exchange Organisation break anything?

    Thanks for any repsonses.

    Cheers,
    Steve

As long as you are not trying to connect to a mailbox on an Exchange 2007 server, the two can co-exist for as long as you like.

    Simon.
