  • Authentication issues

    Hi guys
I am having an issue with all internal Outlook clients (2003 and 2007) where they are prompted for a user name and password for the external domain name. No host at the start just
    Connecting to
    domain.com
    User name
    Password
There are no other mail accounts in the Outlook profile.
I have re-created the Outlook profiles but cannot for the life of me figure out what it is trying to authenticate to.
    Any ideas?

    Re: Authentication issues

If the client machines are members of the domain then you shouldn't be getting any prompts. It would tend to point to a problem with the domain controller.

Run the Exchange Best practises tool from the toolbox and see what that flags.

    Simon.

      Re: Authentication issues

It is worth checking the SPNs on the Exchange 2007 server.

        No errors in the BPA.
I have set a fixed DC to use to see if that resolves the issue.
