  • Send as permissions

    Hi there all

I hope that someone can help. I need to set up a mailbox to be accessed by myself along with my default e-mail address, and I have done it before, however this time it does not seem to work.

I create the AD user, (or the mailbox first and let Exchange Management Console create the user - I've tried both) and then the mailbox in EMC. Then I add send as permissions to my domain user account as well as full access permissions, but I still get the following message when sending form the address, and I can't send to it from my web based e-mail either:

"You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission."

    Am I missing something?

    Re: Send as permissions

How long did you wait after making the change?
Permissions are not live, it can be two hours before the change takes effect.

    Simon.

      Re: Send as permissions

      Hi Simon

      Thanks for replying.

I thought that it might have been the case, but it has now been about 3hours, so it doesn't look like it.

What baffles me is that I've done it before with success. I bet it's something really obvious.

      Thanks,
      Gustav

        Re: Send as permissions

Does the permission show if you look at the properties of the user? In some circumstances the permission can be removed by the system.
