  • default public folder database

In my organisation we have an Exchange 2007 server that holds CAS, mailbox and hub transport server roles. We need to increase the amount of mailbox databases but unfortunately we are running exchange 2007 standard which can only hold the maximum of 5 databases.
I have been considering the possibility of getting rid of the public folder database that was installed by default as we donīt use public folders, would that cause any problem?, is this database necessary for any other service than public folders?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: default public folder database

What clients are you running? Outlook 2003 and older clients still need them.
    Outlook 2007 don't.

    This will help you decide.
