  • Configure exchange 2007 to download mail from pop3 services provider

    Hi All!

I need some help please guys, i look around on the site but not really getting what i need

I have to implement new servers at one of the companys we do i.t for, they want to use exchange 2007,

the company uses another company for web and mail hosting, in the past we used E.F.S to download the mail from the pop3 server, but there must be a way to configure exchange 2007 to do that, but i can't find any tabs etc that could help with this, and this is my 1st time setting up exchange2007.

i've played around but no luck.

could some one please help me!

    thanks guys

I believe using a Smart Host may be what you are looking for. The Smart Host is the device at the ISP that will hold your email until the Exchange server requests it.

There is nothing built in to Exchange to download email from an ISP. What you are looking for is a POP3 connector.

Exchange is designed to be used for SMTP delivery, where email is delivered directly by SMTP with the MX records for the domain pointing at the Exchange server.
