  • Issues with Desktop Experience on Win2008 when trying to install Ex2007SP1

I have this issue, and to save face, I am quite familiar with server 2008. I am trying to install exchange 2007. On the installation check I get this:

    Summary: 5 item(s). 4 succeeded, 1 failed.

    Warning:
The Active Directory schema will be upgraded if you continue. Verify that the organization is ready for Exchange 2007 by running the Exchange 2007 Readiness Check, which is part of the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer.

Now, I have tried installing/uninstalling desktop experience at least five times. Making sure to reboot, and to verify events to see if an error has occurred. It has not. It shows it successfully uninstalled and reinstalled every time. I have even tried it from the command line. I am up to wits end.

    Specs:

    Windows server 2008 standard
    Installing: Exchange 2007 SP1
    Updates: All downloaded

and yes...it shows desktop experience in the features. It also installs some of the components like (Mail, Messenger, Calendar, Contacts) JUST NOT WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. I even tried downloading the encoder off MS website to no avail. Exchange would have it no other way.

    Please help!

    Re: Desktop Experience!

I'll move this to the Exchange 2007 forum and rename it.
