  • Changing exchange 2007 AD site

    hello all
Im trying to change the site that exchange thinks its a part of (but isnt really).

    I have 3 AD sites
    MAN
    POL
    LON-DC

the exchange server physically sits in the same ip subnet as lon-dc but exchange seems to insist on placing it in man and as a result now needs to query the ad controller in man which is a remote site which obviously slows it to a crawl.

Ive tried setting it with set-adite and get-adsite shows lon-dc as being true for transporthubenabled but get-exchangeserver still shows it as being in the man site.

so how do I change the site?

You shouldn't need to set the site manually.
As long as sites and services is configured correctly and there is a GC DC in the same site then Exchange should just place itself in the site. Having checked my own configuration which is spread over two sites that is what happened with me. It just did it after I moved the domain controller in to the right site.
