  • Accounts getting locked out (using RPC/HTTP, Exchange 2007 and ISA 2006)

    Hi,

    Strange problem over here.
clients using Outlook 2003 and some Outlook 2007.
All configured with RPC/HTTP over ISA 2006.
When they open their Outlook, they're prompted for an login and password (so far so good)! When they input a correct password, their account works with no problmes. But when they input a wrong password, their account is blocked in the AD immediately. GPO policy is set to allow 5 times login attempts. I tried raising it to 10 but it stays the same.

How come, when they input a wrong password, they don't get a retry?

    hope some one can help!

    greetings,

SOLVED: Accounts getting locked out (using RPC/HTTP, Exchange 2007 and ISA 2006)

    Problem Solved!

Problem occurs when using ISA2006 with SP1. When u uninstall SP1 from ISA2006, the problem dissappears.

Contacted MS and they gave me this link to apply for the patch:

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/956269

The strange problem is that the patch is available since July 2008. We've updated the ISA2006 in September 2008 but the problem occured in December 2008.

However, just apply the patch anyways and the problem is solved (no need for reseting the server, the patch resets the necessary services itself)

Hope this helps anyone out to!!

    Greetings,
