  • Using Exchange 2007 Mailboxes in Outlook 2003

    Hi,

We've recently installed Exchange Server 2007 and have only migrated a small number of our 2003 mailboxes.

We are interested to know if it's possible to schedule meetings within Outlook 2003 to the new exchange 2007 room mailbox.

When you create a new mailbox from within Exchange 2007 it does not appear to be viewable in outlook 2003. Is there a work around we've just not figured out, or is this a ploy to get people to upgrade the client to 2007?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Kind Regards
    Sharlene

    Hi,

I've managed to resolve this now. Everything is now working as it should.

Apologies if anyone's time was wasted.

    Kind Regards

Didn't give us much time to respond!

Would you mind posting your findings for the benefit of everyone else please?
      cheers

Sorry, should have specified my findings in the first place.

When we were trying to schedule a meeting in Outlook 2003 using the new room mailbox created on Exchange 2007, we were still specifying it as a resource, which in trun provides the following error message:

"The operation failed. An object could not be found. Unable to directly book a resource for this meeting"

What we didn't realise was this is due to the new policy set up. With the way it is set up all you need to do is send the meeting request to your resource room as though you would a normal attendee - You'll then receive an acceptance email from the resource. Everythings booked.

Minor misunderstanding of the new ways.

        Hope this makes sense.

        Kind Regards
        Sharlene
