  • Mailbox on 2007 server listed as Legacy

Hi! Running a migration from Windows 2000 / Exchange 2000 to 2003/2007. (Same single domain.) I got all issues ironed out and mailboxes migrated except for one. During the initial move and subsequent attempts, this mailbox gave the following error:

    Error:
Error was found for Joe Smith ([email protected]) because: Error occurred in the step: Approving object. This mailbox is already on the destination database., error code: -1056749046

When I check the properties of this mailbox in the 2007 management console, it is listed as being on the new server. The mailbox is no longer listed under the mailbox store on the old server. So... why does it say Legacy and do I need to be concerned about that?

    Start with this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931747

If that fails, then post back with the results.

By the way, that worked. The command to run was something like

Set-Mailbox -Identity "jsmith" -ApplyMandatoryPropertiesAnd that's all that was required!
