  • outlook keeps generating sync issues

    I have an account on a hosted Exchange 2007 and I get about 1 or 2 every hour in my Sync Issues that says:

    14:42:57 Synchronizer Version 12.0.6315
    14:42:57 Synchronizing Mailbox 'user1'
    14:42:57 Done
    14:42:57 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
    14:42:57 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located.
    14:42:57 0X8004010F




    Everything is working fine its just that it gets a bit annoying having to delete these emails all the time.


    I contacted them and they gave me a couple of suggestions which i did and it didn't help. They told me to do this but didn't work.



    1. Remove any HOST (A) or CNAME records for the Autodiscover service and wait for the changes to propagate.
    2. Use the following parameters to create a new SRV record:
    Name or Domain: yourdomain.com
    Service: _autodiscover
    Protocol: _tcp
    Priority: 0
    Weight: 0
    Port Number: 443
    Host: exchange.domain.com

    You are going to have to hassle the hosted Exchange providers a little more. This is a server or DNS configuration issue, which they need to diagnose. It is almost impossible for you to do anything yourself because you don't have access to the server to check its configuration.

    The settings are unique to their setup, so they need to tell you what needs to be configured.

    Where did you make those DNS settings? In your public DNS or internal DNS? Many public DNS providers do not support SRV records.

      Hi Simon,

      I made the dns change from my public registar (register.com). I feel that I've done what I can on my end. I guess I would have to try and bug them, I've send numerous emails to them and phone calls as well but I think they've given up. I suppose all is working but the sync errors are annoying. Thanks for your help.
