  • HUB/CAS/Public Folder/ File Witness High Availabilty

    Hi,

I request if any one could shed some light on my below scenario please

    Scenario:
    CCR for mailbox roles
NLB for HUB/CAS (Also hosting the file witness) and mailbox roles installed in both HUB/CAS server for hosting intermediate Public Folder after the migration.
    2 x standalone Exchange 2003
    (Currently on the migration phase)

    Requirement:
Complete High Availability solution (Mailbox, HUB, CAS, File Witness, Public Folder)

    Completed:
    CCR for Mailbox: Done
    NLB HUB/CAS: Done

    Problem:
I am unable to plan on High Availabilty design for file witness and Public Folder

I heard that file witness can be made available using CNAME change. However I am unsure on how to keep OAB and free time/scheduling alive when one HUB/CAS/Public folder node goes down.

    Thanks in Advance.

Not sure about these statments... but liked the concept of:

■Hub Transport servers should NOT be the location for your File Share Witness. I have found the BEST location in my opinion is in fact Domain Controllers in the same domain as the Exchange servers.

My “unofficial” Exchange Server 2007 CCR recommendations
