  • multiple receipents reading the same mail

    Hello,

I am thinking about creating a mail "folder , box or something" where more than one employee can read mail sent to that folder.

My "demand" is that when employee A reads a certain mail , employee B must in the same folder be able to see that the mail has been read.

What is best to use in exchange 2007 then ? I have tried with a public folder, but then mail read by employee A still shows as unread when employee B looks at the public folder..

Any ideas how this might be solved ?

    regards,
    Stein

You tried a public folder. Did you try a mailbox? Create a test one, give 2 people access and you should see it works that way.
I believe (pending being shot down of course) that public folders keep the read/not read flag per user whereas mailboxes are read/not read per mailbox.
    cheers

      Hare Krsna

Here is what you need to buddy.
Go to that paticular folder where you want if one user reads email it will be shown as read to all the other users,
Go to the property of the mail enabled public folder that you have created.
Under general at the bottom there is one option
Maintain per user read and un read information for this folder.
      uncheck that .

      You are done.
      Thanks & Regards

Not sure that is the best way?

If you clear the Maintain per-user read and unread information for this folder check box in the public folder's properties, the Read or Unread state of each item is not tracked. All items in the folder are in the Unread state, regardless of whether they have been viewed by a user.
