  • Autodiscover Issue

    One user, running Outlook 2007 is having issues contacting the autodiscover service. This is shown by OAB updates not coming through and free/busy not showing.

    We try the Outlook 2007 Test-Email-Configuration option in the system tray and we get the following:-

    3988 2335828 09/12/08 09:18:23 Attempting URL xxx/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml found through SCP
    3988 2335828 09/12/08 09:18:23 Autodiscover to xxx/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml starting
    3988 2350890 09/12/08 09:18:38 Autodiscover to xxx/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml FAILED (0x80070057)

    Any ideas? This only happens for one single user, everyone elses client works fine.

    Does this user still have an issue elsewhere or only on a specific machine?
    Is the DNS static/wrong locally?

      User only has issue on one machine. Have created a new Outlook profile, problem still exists.....no one else that logs on machine is having issue.

      User can ping the autodiscover server correctly. DNS is being configured by DHCP. Have done ipconfig /flushdns and problem still exists.

        Problem solved, user had a proxy server set in Internet Options
