    hey everyone,
i removed exch2k7 server ( im Using VMware ESX ) without Uninstalling it, and now i ve got a problem to install another exchange server with the same Active Directory. At the first i could'nt install it normaly i mean at the first setup.exe gives me an error says that i should go for Disaster recover mode in setup ( with Power shell ) then i changed the new exchange server's name and rejoin it to domain + i deleted microsoft exchange security group from active directory and then after that i could do the setup normally, but i had this error :

    Summary: 4 item(s). 3 succeeded, 1 failed.
    Elapsed time: 00:00:18

    Organization Prerequisites
    Failed

    Error:
The Active Directory must be modified with 'Setup /PrepareAD' before domains can be prepared for Exchange 2007.

    Client Access Role Prerequisites
    Completed

    Elapsed Time: 00:00:03

    Mailbox Role Prerequisites

    Elapsed Time: 00:00:03

as you see the first role has failed. then in powershell i used this command and i got the below Error:
    PS D:\> d:\Setup.com /p

Removing the object would probably be place to start.
Although if you removed the Exchange server incorrectly then you should have undone that using DR mode and removed it correctly using setup. Was there any reason you didn't do that?

        Re: organization preparation FAILED!

All the DR information is on Technet.
Microsoft do not have a public manual removal method for Exchange 2007. If you cannot rebuild the domain you will have to call Microsoft for assistance.

You can remove this entry using an adsiedit from a Windows 2003 member server.

              - Open Adsiedit.msc
              - Select Properties from [Configuration,DC=x,DC=x]
              - Lookup WellKnownObjects and click Edit *(the value should show ;; ; on windows 2003, on Windows 2008 you see the full value but are unable to edit it)
              - Click on [ Add ] which adds a blank line, making the value change to <not set>
              - Click on [ Apply ] to save your changes

After this you should be able to run setup /prepareAD.
