  • Mail Approval Mechanism in Exchange 2007

    Hi folks..

Is there any possibility of reviewing and approving a mail sent to internal group ID's from Internal Mail users.

I have a group id where all the employees of my organization can be reached..and any employee of my organization can send mails to this group ID..

My requirement is, Being the administrator i want to review the mails sent to my group ID as there is a lot of uncommon and irrelevent junk stuff is being sent from the employees..

Is there any inbuilt tool can fulfill my requirement or else any third-party tool exists??

    thanks in advance

    Hi,

Secure that group by enabling only authticated/selectd users can send mail on it.

the alternate way to achieve this is MOSS.

There is nothing built in that will do what you want.
Third party? Not within Exchange. You could use a standard list serve application that has a moderation capability - which is basically what you are asking for.

I have done tricks using public folders in the past, but it isn't always that reliable.

As I don't know what you did for a moderated groups system in Exchange 2003, I cannot say whether it will work with Exchange 2007. There is no mechanism in Exchange 2003 either, so it would have been some kind of hack.

Hmm. The bank I am at currently use a public folder for the "all london users" list. Anyone that sends an email to that group actually has it end up in an pending approval folder. This is monitored and then emails are then sent if they are approved. Or maybe, along the same vein, you could set it so that users have to email another group and then only members of this group are allowed to send to the all london users group?
            cheers
