  • Distribution list same name Different Domain

    Hi,

I'm hoping an expert here can help me.

I have a situation at the moment i need to create two Distribution Lists.

    1) [email protected]
    2)[email protected]

When i go to create my second group it tells me It will not create it because [email protected] already exists even though i want a different domain name.

    We host mulltiple domains.

How would i go about doing this?

all your help is much appreciated,

    thanks,

Have you tried naming the 2nd one something different for display and then just make the email address accurate?

    1. Info1 - [email protected]
    2. Info 2 - [email protected]

Two different distribution list names /w two different addresses should work

What you should do is create the lists with a unique name to both.

      [email protected]
      [email protected]

Then once the list ha been created, manually adjust the email addresses on each list for each domain.

You may also want to look at your email address policies to ensure that new objects do not get email addresses in both domains automatically, possibly by using three different policies - one for each domain and on for objects that need an address in both domains.
