  • Free/Busy with 2003 and 2007

Quick question. We have an existing 2003 Exchange Server and a new 2007 Exchange server. So far we have gotten everything to work except the Free/Busy. On Outlook 2003 clients (when we unplug the 2003 server) the client continues to search for the 2003 server. We have made the changes to the RUS and assigned it to the 2007 server. Can someone briefly please summarize what changes need to be made in the relationship between the 2003 and the 2007 to make the Free/Busy work? Thanks in advance.

You need to replicate the public and system folders to the new server. Specifically for this function, the free/busy folders.

That is covered in the Technet documentation for the removal of a legacy server.
