  • Exchange Kerberos error

    Hi,

We keep getting the following event log on one of our Exchange 2007 CCR nodes:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Kerberos
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4
    Date: 15/07/2008
    Time: 17:30:21
    User: N/A
    Computer: clusternode2
    Description:
The kerberos client received a KRB_AP_ERR_MODIFIED error from the server host/clusternode1.hli.local.
The target name used was NAMEOFMAILBOXCLUSTERRESOURCE. This indicates that the password used to encrypt the kerberos
service ticket is different than that on the target server. Commonly, this is due to identically named machine accounts in the target realm (OURDOMAIN.LOCAL), and the client realm.
    Please contact your system administrator.

This event log is being generated on the passive cluster node (clusternode2). Clusternode1 is the active node.

    Has anybody seen this before?

    Hi,

Have you checked the time on all servers ? Kerberos are mostly caused by bad time stamps

      Re: Exchange Kerberos error

When do these events occur in the logs specifically?

        Re: Exchange Kerberos error

Thanks for gettig back to me.

They seem to occur randomly during the day but happen every day at 17.30.
