  • ExMerge / Mailbox Import

Hi, we have approx 50 users moving from one domain to another, we did not have exchange before we used other's company servers.
now they exported thier mailboxes with exmerge.
how can i import them to server because i saw exmerge is not supported on exchange 2007, we have exchange 2007 .
any one who can point an easy way?
i saw some articles that seemed kinda taking too much time and command line
    Thanks & Regards

    Re: ExMerge / Mailbox Import

Exmerge creates pst files with names based on the usernames. Give the appropriate pst file to each user and have them use Outlook to import them into their new mailboxes (you could also log on as each user and do it for them).

        Re: ExMerge / Mailbox Import

Make sure all of the usernames are correct then use the import-mailbox command in Ex07.

        This is the command

You can also use the import-csv cmdlet to bulk import them using usernames in a CSV as well.
        cheers

          Re: ExMerge / Mailbox Import

I just imported three times that number using import-mailbox.

Note the odd requirements. You have to use a 32 bit machine, with Outlook installed and the Exchange 2007 SP1 32 bit management tools on the same machine. I used a workstation to do mine.

Name the PST files the same as the alias on the user accounts.

Permissions wise, I create a new user and gave that user the required permissions in Exchange and on the user accounts (Full Mailbox Access is required).

Once everything is set, it just runs on its own, I would say it is even easier than exmerge to import the files, if you prepare yourself correctly.

          Simon.
