Re: Creatting SSL for Exchange 2007

Do you want a public (highly recommneded) or privately generated certificate?

If private you need to install Certificate Services. If public then you will need to generate a request to send to a certificate authority (GoDaddy,Verisign,Thawte etc).

    This is an excellent read:

To import to ISA you need a copy of the cert (with pub and priv keys) and import it into the local computers personal folder. You can find this by opening an MMC and then certificates, local computer. Once it is there you can use it in your listeners.

Publishing is really for inbound not outbound connections in ISA.

Does your network route through the ISA completely? Can you provide a basic idea of your setup?

Can you also telnet to port 25 on maila.microsoft.com for example?
        cheers

Re: Creatting SSL for Exchange 2007

I have setup 3 server with win2008 and exchange.
          192.168.1.11 dc01.sprtl.tl
          192.168.1.13 firewall.sprtl.tl
          192.168.1.14 mail01.sprtl.tl

          mx = mail.sprtl.tl

I can open my owa from out side. It's mean OWA publishing is ok. But i cant send/receive mail.
          1. configuring Send/Receive connector, Should i use for FQDN mail01.sprtl.tl or mail.sprtl.tl?
          2. Or what port should i open on TMG to be received mail from Out side? (I have Published mail server such as SMTP, SMTPS...)

Re: Creatting SSL for Exchange 2007

Have a look at this for the send/receive connectors
            http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/20...17/431555.aspx

Mail flows on port 25 so make sure that is open inbound. Outbound it would need to be any port above 1023 --> 25 (this is usually open anyway by default (mostly))
Make sure you can resolve DNS properly on the server too.

Can't think what TMG means, the mail gateway maybe?

Can you try this from a workstation to the server
            "telnet mail01.sprtl.tl 25"
do you get a login box?

            If so try

            ehlo
            mail from: [email protected]
            rcpt to: [email protected]

            Do you get any response?
            cheers
