  • Connection Problems

    Hi Guys,
i really need some advices on that, we recently installed Exchange 2007 server, and most users experience those problems in screen shots,
can it be FW rules? or what else (connection, but where).

Can it be related to the server? DC? because all DCS have any any rules.

    Re: Connection Problems

Check your server is up to date with all patches (I'm assuming 2003?)

Is the firewall enabled on client/server

mismatch on duplex between server/switch or client/switch

What is your network setup like? Outlook clients in a different site maybe?
    cheers
    Andy

        Re: Connection Problems

        Hi,

no site issue, 1 building, 1 domain, two vlans with FW between.
firewall is not enabled on the exchange server (win2k3 and exchange 2007)
i realized this does not happen to me almost at all, so i thought about firewall (not the os firewall) the fortigate firewall i own, but as far as i saw i opened all the correct ports.
        Thanks & Regards

          Hi, some info,
it's probably FW blocking specific ports ,
will find out more myself ant let all know,
any one can point what exchange users needs because all articles i saw points to 3 ports..
          Thanks & Regards

            Re: Connection Problems

how do the outlook clients connect?

in the LAN, no port issues should happen. externally, a VPN should be established, or at least RPC over HTTPS

              Re: Connection Problems

Already wrote here above, vlans <-
so it's a FW and ports issue
              Thanks & Regards
