  • Mailbox Creating Problem For Child Domain

    Hi,

I have two domain controller Root and Child.
    main.local
    child.main.local

Exchange Server 2007 configured with root domain controller.

I have created PS1 script file for enable mailbox for current ad users as below

    Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'main.local/Test/test4' -Alias 'test4' -Database 'CCRMAILBOX\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database'

above command is working fine and create mailbox for existing ad user but when I run above command for child domain controller

    Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'child.main.local/Test/childtest4' -Alias 'childtest4' -Database 'CCRMAILBOX\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database'

then it will give below error

Enable-Mailbox : The operation could not be performed because object 'child.main.local/Test/childtest4' could not be found on domain controller 'root.main.local'
    .
    At line:1 char:15
    + Enable-Mailbox <<<< -Identity 'child.main.local/Test/childtest4' -Alias 'childtest4' -Database 'CCRMAILBOX\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database'

But I am able to create mailbox for child domain user from GUI so any command require at Command Shell.

    It resolved…..

I just did silly mistake…. It requires –domaincontroller tab

    Enable-Mailbox -Identity 'child.main.local/Test/childtest4' -Alias 'childtest4' -Database 'CCRMAILBOX\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' -domaincontroller 'chld.child.main.com'
