  • Room Mailbox reconnect problem

    Hello

One of my customer deleted 3 room mailboxes by mistake in EMC.
Mailboxes appears in disconnected mailboxes. No users in AD.
I restored users with ADrestore.net. Users now appears in AD in disabled state. It's OK for resource ( Room mailbox). When i try do connect one of these mailboxes to matched user i receive an error.

    Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed.

    room1
    Failed

    Error:

Read only MultiValuedProperty does not support this operation.

    Warning:

An unexpected error has occurred and a Watson dump is being generated: Read only MultiValuedProperty does not support this operation.

    Exchange Management Shell command attempted:

    Connect-Mailbox -Identity '37602226-5103-4b4f-923b-c325d1e75bc5' -Database 'sbssrv64.wdc.local\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' -User 'wdc\room1' -Alias 'room1' -Room

When i connect it to any another user in AD , there is no problem.

    Waiting for suggestions

    Thanks

    Re: Room Maiilbox reconnect problem

If the accounts are disabled then that is probably the first problem. You need to enable the accounts. However you will not be able to enable the accounts then use them immediately. Exchange caches information and will have cached the previous state. You will have to wait for the cache to expire (approximately three hours) before you can do anything with the accounts.

      Re: Room Mailbox reconnect problem

      Hi Sembee
The accounts need to be disable by default when using room mailbox.
If i enable it and make a reconnect room mailbox wizard not see it , because user is enable , wizard look only for disabled user. When you create a Room/Equipment mailbox , user already disable. Of course for activation i need to send i mail or make a meeting , or make in enable and login to OWA or outlook to activate it , like in 2003.
      The problem is:
Only when i try to reconnect deleted room mailbox to user that was connected to it before deletion i receive an error. If i reconnect room mailbox to other disabled user - it's work perfect
Regular user mailboxes works perfect if i delete it , recover them with ADrestore.net and reconnect to matched user ( user mailbox they belong before deletion)

I searched anywhere for answer for this but not founded exactly
There is some similar error when installing CAS role or something on
      (http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/...-access-r.aspx)

        Re: Room Mailbox reconnect problem

        Hii

The error message mentioned"Read only MultiValuedProperty....."seems to point us towards exchange attributes..
verify this user's exchange attributes using adsiedit...Make sure we have a complete backup before making any changes
        >LegacyExchangeDN,msExchHomeServerName,msExchMaste rAccountSID,msExchMailboxGUID

If we have any attributes allready listed...clear them and u shud be gud to go...

Similar error normally comes up while installing CAS incase ur using Exchange 2003 too..
If thats the case..see if the article listed below helps

          Re: Room Mailbox reconnect problem

Re-reading your original question, I suspect that the problem is the way that you restored the accounts. The accounts have either not restored correctly or have a configuration inconsistency. Not a lover of restoring selective objects on the domain for this very reason.

Hi , it's worked. But why it's happened with room mailbox and not with regular user mailbox?
What was the problem with attributes you mentioned early for room mailbox user in ADSI ? User was in same Exchange organization , same Exchange Server?
May be it's lost something in ADrestore restoration.
I didn't test it with disable-mailbox command it give same result (put mailbox at disconnected state , but not delete user in AD) ?

            Thanks for Help
