  • Restoring Exchange Info Store to recreated domain

    Hello,

I am considering starting my domain over from scratch due to numerous errors on the DC. The current setup has the DC and Exchange on the same server, the new setup will seperate them.

Will a backup of the info store be usable if i tried to restore it on the new server? If not what is the preferred method of doing such.

    Thanks in advance.

You cannot restore the database to another live database on a server on another domain - even if you call it the same name as the original. You would have to restore to an RSG, then extract and import the data in to the live database.
