  • Offline address book issues

I recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, however I don't think I finished the migration properly, and as a result, I am getting this message in my outlook 2007 client every time I do a send and receive.

22:31:29 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
22:31:29 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located.
    22:31:29 0X8004010F

I have googled this error, and followed every article I can find, however nothing has worked to date.

I became aware of this error after I had completely uninstalled Exchange 2003, so it no longer exists in my environment, and I have installed Sp1 for Exchange 2007 which is running on a Windows 2003 box.

That error is usually caused by the autodiscover service.

try the following to see where it is breaking down

ctrl-right click on you outlook connection icon in the task bar
left click on Test Email Autoconfiguration
Enter a valid user name and password
Un-check Use guestsmart and DecureGuessmart Authentication
    click test
    click on the log button

you should see exactly where autodiscover is failing.

check also that the Internal Uri and external URL are correct on your OAB.
