  • IM Client for Exchange 2007

We currently use Windows Messenger connected to our 2000 domain, I belive this will no longer be possible with Exchange 2007.

Is there a way round this? Or is it a case we need a new bit of software from MS?

    Thanks

    Dave

If you want instant messaging then you have to use another product. Office Communications Server I believe its current name is.

Another option would be to use something else completely for IM, but that wouldn't use the Windows/MSN messenger interface.

Just to let people know who maybe looking for a similar solution, I have found a Open source solution, free for commercial use and intergrates with AD and can be group limited.

The client is called Spark, and the server is called OpenFire

Testing so far has been good. Both can be found at http://www.igniterealtime.org/projects/index.jsp

      Hope this helps anyone
