  • CCR Senario

    The scenario is this:

One Exchange server 2003 on site A that will be transitioned to 2007.

On site B another Exchange server 2007 will be installed.

Site A contains all DCs and other servers, site B contains nothing !

The connection between the two site is made by "site to site VPN".

How do I make a replica for the two Exchange servers. (I thought about CCR).
    Another thing is:
How can I make both servers "Active" ? (CCR does not support this feature)
I want users on site A to use the Exhc. server on site A and users from site B to use there own. but I want to keep the data replicated.

Is there a way of doing so ?

    Any idea will be appreciated...

CCR is not designed to work in the way that you have outlined and I don't believe there is a way that you can do that with clustering - certainly not with native tools. CCR works in the normal clustering way, with one active, one passive. If the active fails, the passive takes over. All that is new is that the passive can be located elsewhere.

A geocluster is the only thing that will provide you with the same data on two sites, but that will require a lot of bandwidth (xDSL will not be enough) and some specialised hardware, along with very deep pockets.

Maybe using two SCR servers crossbreeding ?

One server holds one store and a second store as a replica of the second server and vice versa.

      What do you think ?

        That will not work either.
There is no way to have the data on two sites with both sites being accessed using native tools.

          Re: CCR Senario

Each server has its own mailboxes, they are not sharing the access to the data.
They are not using the same store !

The server on site A has like 50 mailboxes and the server on site B has 50 OTHER mailboxes ! and each one has a replica of the second store. (unmounted).

You don't think it will work like this ?

I believe that SCR is the answer as the first deployment scenario in the following link seems to be the exact solution you are looking for:
