  • Message Delivery Restrictions and Groups

    Hello,
Here is what I am trying to configure- Exchange 2007
I have a user with a mailbox that has message Delivery Restrictions enabled for most of the other mailboxes on the domain.
I need this user to receive emails sent to a distribution list though- currently whenever a user emails the list they receive a NDR bounce indicating they cannot send email to the resricted user.
So I created another mailbox and set it to forward to the restricted user. Now he can receive the emails addressed to the distribution list, but the sender still receives a bounce message.
Does anyone have a better way to accomplish this?

    Thanks,
    Brad Primm

Re: Message Delivery Restrictions and Groups

Where have you placed the restrictions for this user? On the account itself or on the transport rules system? If you have done the former, try the latter. It will give you a lot more flexibility and is what the Hub Transport concept was designed for.
