  • Where can apply the SAN Cert for Exchange Server 2007? And how to install, enable it?

    Hi all,

I am total new in Exhcnage, now I install it successful on my company for a testing ...

And we have the FQDN already, it is mail.corp.com on this server (Notebook for test)

Later will buy a new server and then format the HDD, install the Exchange with same computer name mail and same domain name ...

So now plan buy a 3rd CA cert for the Exchange to test the Outlook Anywhere, I am wonder, after buy the new server, do the bought 3rd CA can work and install on this new computer?? Or it is same as AD have the SID here so the Cert if not work ...

    Second ...
Where I can apply this 3rd SAN multi-function Certificate for the OWA, IMAP, POP Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync etc by one Cert, I don't want to each service apply one cert ...

And which company is safe and cheap price?

    Third question are ..
After apply, how to install the Cert, and setting that can let all the Exchange Server 2007 work with it?

    Thank you very much

There are a number of vendors for the SAN certificate. Depends on how much you want to spend. GoDaddy are currently the cheapest. http://www.certificatesforexchange.com/

For the request, use this wizard: https://www.digicert.com/easy-csr/exchange2007.htm
Once you have the request, copy and paste it in to powershell to generate the request.

After you get the certificate back, process it using import certificate: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb124424.aspx

Finally you can then set the certificate for other services like IMAP and POP using PowerGui http://www.powergui.org/

      Thank you,

but if choose Go Daddy, I am just need choose the Standard SSL (UCC) this one, right?

      And the most important ...

Now using the notebook (Test Computer) to apply the certifiate, later replace to other computer that have same domain name, do the certificate will still work no problems?

      Thank you x 1000

As long as the URLs used are the same then the certificate will be fine. However do note that one of the URLs you should be using is the server's real name (so server.domain.local for example), so unless you are using the same name for the test environment you may wish to wait.
