  • Brand new Exchange 2007 setup Existing Exchange 2003

    Hello,

I currently have an Exchange 2003 FE/BE server at our company.

I would like to move to Exchange 2007. My thought was to build an Exchange 2007 CAS server with hub and transport services. And then another Exchange 2007 with mailbox and edge transport services.

I will then migrage the mailboxes on a schedule from Exchange 2003 over to Exchange 2007. I will change the primary mx to point to Exchange 2007.

With Outlook via HTTP which we currently have configured and pointing to Exhcange 2003. So far all the Outlook clients are 2003. Do I need to change anything on the clients? I would like to keep the current setting which is "mail.company.com", true?

The plan looks OK and if you will use the "Move Mailbox" - there is no change that needs to be done on the clients side.
Remember that if your domain is 2k, you will have to upgrade the DCs to 2k3 domain (with SP1 minimum).
