  • ex2007, 2 sites - design method?

    We are finely installing ex2007 in our organization we have only 2 sites
    what configuration should i use To connect those 2 exchange servers? which role should I use? what design method?
    Here is a simple diagram

    1.AD Site 1

    ***Server 1***
    a. AD, GC,
    b. File server
    c. Server 2

    ***Server 2***
    a. Exchange 2007 - 40 mailbox

    VPDN_ (ATM,2/2 Mbs)

    2.AD Site 2

    *** Server 1***
    a. AD,
    b. Exchange 2007 - 20 mailbox
    c. File server
    d. Etc

    You can use only one Exchange server that will serve both sites (it will save you licenses, hardware and maintenance), but consider that if the line between the 2 sites will go down - the people in the "non Exchange site" will not be able to send email even within their site (maybe only see the emails in their mailbox using cache mode).
