  • Importing CSV file into 2003 GAL

I have an csv file that needs to be imported into exchnage 2003 GAL - The front end client runs netscape so i cant use public folder's etc - How do i go about importing the entried from the csv into the GAL and getting them updated without using LDAP ?

    Thoughts appreciated

    Thanks

Are you intending to create contacts or user accounts from the CSV ?
Do you have access to the AD or you have mail client only connection ?

Is there a difference between setting up contacts and user accounts ? The csv file contains mail entries (user & grp mailbox email addresses from an external company)

Is this a straight forward process to import direct from the CSV file ?

The csv contains email addresses from an external company that will be updated every 60/90 days

There is a difference, of course. If these are just objects that need to be mail enabled and that need t be put in distribution groups, then go for contacts.

You'll need to format the CSV file in a way that'll easily allow you to add the right attributes for the AD object, and do it in such a way that will be easy to modify in the next modification cycle.

Post a sample of the file and we'll try to help.
        Cheers,
