  • Is this normal Exchange 2003 behavior after migrating from 2000?

I brought up a new ES 2003 box into my current ES 2000 organization and I will be moving mailboxes from 2000 to 2003. On the few mailboxes, including mine, that I have moved thus far i noticed that upon first login I have to enter my UN and PW before it lets me in. I have to do this every time I open Outlook if I don't select the "remember password" box. After I select remember PW all is well. Is there a way to get around this or should I plan on informing my users to expect this?

Try removing the "remember tick", open Outlook, close Outlook and repplace the "remember tick". See if this fixes it.

Are the machines and users in the same domain as the Exchange server?
If so, you shouldn't be getting any username and password prompt from Outlook. It uses pass through authentication and should be transparent.
