  • Exchange 2003 and NDR's

I am still messing around with excahnge and was looking at how NDR's are configured.

By default I thought all NDR's were automatically sent to [email protected] (Automatically configured when exchange is set-up) but I have been testing this and mails do not arrive.

    I then found this:

    http://forums.petri.com/showthread.p...&highlight=ndr

Which indicates that you have to set-up copies of NDR's to go to whatever email address you set-up. Is this correct?

As I said I thought they automatically went to postmaster by default?

    Re: Exchange 2003 and NDR's

NDRs only go to the sender by default. You can configure the server to send a COPY of the NDR to another address, but the sender will still get a copy.

NDRs will come from the account holding [email protected] - by default this address is on the account used to install Exchange (the administrator account usually) but can be changed.
