  • Delivery Status Notification (Relay)

I am having the following problem:

When a user sends and email to the internet and request for a delivery notice, the user gets "Delivery Status Notice" with subject (Delivery Status Notification(Relay)) and original mails are attached. This is a problem because if the original mail has a big attachment it returns back to the user.

How can I turn off the original mail attachment so that the users get only the notice but not the original mail attached? I believe the notice is coming from my exchange hub which delivers the mail to the Mcafee Appliance.

Here is how the return mail looks like:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Your message has been successfully relayed to the following recipients, but the requested delivery status notifications may not be generated by the destination.

    [email protected]

The text attachment has the following:
    Reporting-MTA: dns;server2.corp.internal
    Received-From-MTA: dns;server1.corp.internal
    Arrival-Date: Wed, 26 Jul 2006 08:32:20 +1000

    Final-Recipient: rfc822;[email protected]
    Action: relayed
    Status: 2.5.0

where server2.corp.internal the last exchange server that delivered the mail to the Mcafee Appliance.

I am using Exchange 2000 SP3 in windows 2000 AD.

Thank you and appreciate your help very much.
