      Really?

I would have to disagree. On the last 20 or 30 Exchange servers I have built this year I have gone straight to SP2 for Exchange without any problems.

        Is this still the case??

According to Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/ev...n/sp2/faq.mspx) you dont need to install SP1 before installing SP2.

I have went straight to SP2 on all my test machines and they all seem to work fine.

        Comments??

Daniel, you still owe us an answer on this one
I have enough Exchange 2003 SP2 deployments that I did for my clients where I went streight to SP2, skiping SP1 and had no issues.
If there are some gotchas involved, I'd like to know before the sh#t hits the fan.

I knew I had seen the reason somewhere.

                Daniel,
Is there a way of "rolling back" if SP1 has been missed
Would an install of SP1 followed by a reinstall of SP2 do any harm?

Is there any way of checking if SP1 has not been installed prior to SP2

You're getting me all paranoid with this
