  • machine minimun requirements for frontend

I have a a cluster with two exchange 2003 servers, and I would like to put a isa server in front of them, and I need to know what kind of machine I could use to accomplish this?? the cluster is currently managing about 1,200 users...

    Thankss!!

Re: machine minimun requirements for frontend

Pretty much anything can do frontend work.
A low end 1u server from your preferred vendor will be fine. The most I do with frontends is put a RAID card in and mirror the OS.
Single Zeon with a single gb of ram will be fine.

What you may want to consider is having two and load balancing them. Then it doesn't matter if one dies, the other picks up the traffic.
