    Re: Port Used Exchange Connection

With every option enabled, the following ports are used:

    SMTP: 25
    LDAP (DC lookup): 389
    LDAP (GC lookup): 3268
NetBIOS (ports): 135, 139, 1024+ (default config is usually 6000 something).
    DNS: 53
    RPC: 111, 135, 1024+
    Netlogon: 445
    Kerberos: 88
    OWA: 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS)
    IMAP4: 143, 993 (with SSL) SSL
    POP3:110 995 (with SSL)

Most of the ports are dynamic, usually around the 6000 area.
You could try switching Exchange from dynamic to static ports, but I would not advise it.

I also wouldn't advise trying to limit the bandwidth that Exchange/Outlook uses. It will have an impact on the performance of Outlook.

        Re: Port Used Exchange Connection

It is a above 1024 - so it is a dynamic port. Probably netbios or something like that. Exchange uses a lot of dynamic ports, which is why it is close to impossible to restrict Exchange traffic without impacting the Outlook clients.

You did not explain what "to limit" means, what kind of limitation you want to put on them (for example - only during specific hours, only specific users, only specific client versions, only specific computers). Most of these can be done by properly configuring your firewall.

You do have a firewall, don't you?
