  • Exchange 2003 (NNTP) No Drive M:

    Hi everyone
i'm a newbie, let me start first from the begin. I Install Exhange 2003 with Exchange dependencies:
    - .Net Frame
    - ASP NET
    - Internet Information Services (IIS)
    - World wide Web Publishing Service (WWW)
    - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)
    - Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP)

The Exchange Server is working No problem at all. I just wanted to install NewsGroup i flow exactely This Artical

    http://www.petri.co.il/configure_new...ntp_server.htm

    The problem is.
    1. No DRIVE M:
    2. At the status of the Internet Newsgroup it says ( SIZE 0 ) (items 0)
    3. In the IIS there is absolutly no tree for NNTP

Wish to get the solution as soon as possible. Coz i have a deadline.

    Thanks

P.s Thanks for the lovely Site

Re: Exchange 2003 (NNTP) No Drive M:

Well, I dont know if there problems at all:

    1. Exchange 2003 doesnt present M drive (like in Exchange 2000) so
its ok that dont see it.

    2. Internet Newsgroup - If dont create Internet Newsgroup there wouldnt
real reason for the size to increase.

    3. The NNTP should be manage from the Exchange System Manager and
    not from the IIS.

A can recommanded you to use the following book on Exchange 2003:

Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 24seven (Paperback)

    ISBN: 0782142508

Hello Yuval and thank you for replaying.

      I agree with you.

At Point 2. I did create Internet Newsgroup. But Somehow (SIZE 0) (items 0) i dont get it.
Point 3. I think when you create a NewsGroup (NNT) it must have a tree in IIS ?!!

I really appreciate for your recommendation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 24seven (Paperback).

      once again thanks

        To use NNTP Please review:

        http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/...rver-2003.html

There no NNTP under the IIS after Exchange installation, and its normal
