  • Accessing OWA

    Hi

I have a windows 2000 server(pdc), a windows 2003 server running Exchange 2003 and another windows 2000 member server, i have a netscreen firewall 5xp. all systems are behind the firewall. the mail is hosted by an external webhost and is polled into exchange usin a pop connector.

i have a frontend/backend configuration for owa. i configured certificate services on the front end server and activated IIS.

i have created a mip on the firewall- a direct one to one mapping from public ip to private ip (machine running owa) and configured owa on the front end server.

users can access the https://servername/exchange on the internal LAN with no problems.

what would i have to type for my users to access the owa machine from the internet?

    thanks

    Hi nubianbabe185,

Your users should be able to use https://123.123.123.123/exchange where you use your public IP address. Alternatively you could set up external DNS to point that IP to (for example) mailhost.abc.com and then use https://mailhost.abc.com/exchange

With luck the first will work immediately but the second may require DNS tweaking.
