  • Changing MX & A record to point to my Exchange Server, newbie pleae help

I have a company Exchange Server. Currently users type "http://212.53.46.225/exchange" from outside to access the internal emails. If user type "http://212.53.46.225" then the intranet page hosted in the server will be opened.

We have registered the domain name www.utc.org.uk. I want to configure it so that our company exchange server will handle all the emails.

I want to be achieve followings:
1.when user type "www.utc.org.uk" ----------> intranet page "http://212.53.46.225" should open.
2.when user type "utc.org.uk" ----------> intranet page "http://212.53.46.225" should open.

3.when user type "mail.utc.org.uk" ----------> exchange login page "http://212.53.46.225/exchange" should open.

From the control panel of my domain name in the dns management section i can see following, can anybody please assist me to fill it.

Can somebody please assist me filling the forms, will be very greatful.

First, it's not a good idea to post real IP addresses and real domain names on public forums.

Second, for #1 and #2, you need to add 2 A Records.

    Name Type Data

    www A 212.53.46.225
    [empty] A 212.53.46.225

for #3 you need to add:

    Name Type Data

    mail CNAME www.utc.org.uk

plus create a pointer file in the Default Website in IIS on your Exchange server that'll forward all traffic to the /EXCHANGE virtual directory.

        1) The [empty] means "same as parent domain", i.e. nothing in the name box, just the record type and the IP.

        2) Follow this guide:
