  • help ! Exchange w2k3 The e-mail address could not be found. #5.1.7

    We are running two w2k3 servers , one is file and print the other exchange.

    Recently a new user and and existing user, get sent an email internally, from the global address list, the sender recieves:

    The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    The e-mail address could not be found. Perhaps the recipient moved to a different e-mail organization, or there was a mistake in the address. Check the address and try again.
    <server.domain.com #5.1.7>

    When sent from an external address the sender recieves

    Delivery to the following recipients failed

    [email protected]

    I have checked the details and they are setup correctly. One user was recieving mail upto recently. The other is a new user. There are no limits set on these accounts.

    All other users appear to be ok. To confuse the issue further both users can SEND email.

    I'm a bit flumoxed....
    Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

        You can manually force a RUS to run by choosing Update Now or Rebuild from the right-click options. Update Now shortens the interval before the next update, and RUS still updates only the changes. Rebuild forces a complete processing through all the recipient policies and recipients, even those that have not changed. For this reason, rebuilding usually takes significantly longer than updating and should not be used often.

          I'm facing the same problem. I'll try the suggested solution.

          Thank you all
