  • Exchange 2003 duplicate message problem

    I am running SBS 2003 Standard SP1 with Exchange Server 2003 SP2

I have had a problem for sometime now where users on the network can receive the same message several times if that message has been sent to several people.

For example, let's say our domain name is domain.com. If an external user or someone from another company sends an email to [email protected] he receives the message once. If the email is sent to [email protected] and copied to [email protected] they both receive the same message twice, if [email protected] is also copied in they all receive the same message 3 times and so on.

If such a message is sent internally it is only received once.

I am guessing it has something to do with the pop3 connector.

It's driving me mad, any assistance would be very welcome.

    Many thanks

I have a client with a similar problem and it turned out to be a problem with the mail provider. You need to check with your provider and see if they are able to change the way they handle your pop email.
