  • Ost size problem

I have a problem with XP PRO / Outlook 2003. My OST size = 2GB. System hangs up with message regarding the PST size limit. I have seen that the max size is 20GB depending on the local audit policy. How can I check / change this ? I have also seen it is recommended to stay under 2GB. With Outlook 2003 too ? If so I think I am going to create a separate PST for current archives ... Is it the best idea

    Re: Ost size problem

Your OST file is directly realted to the size of your mailbox. (Offline Store). Most stores will start to fall over once they reach 1.81GB in size.

By archiving your mail you should reduce the overall size of your mailbox thus your OST file will reduce in size.

Your Outlook must be in Unicode- operation mode, if you want to get bigger .ost files then 2Gb.
