  • Filtering inbound mail

    Hi all,
I have a new windows 2000 server running exchange 2000 (new AD network).

I also have an mx record pointing to my firewall/router which forwards SMTP requests to my exisitng exchange server (currenly SBS4.5 IMS). Once i switch my users to the new AD network i would like to point my firewall/router to a box running SMTP (exchange?) and have a program such as Visnetic mailscan scan all inbound traffic for virus/spam. Then pass it on to my exchange server for delivery?

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    David

    Re: Filtering inbound mail

    Yes it is.

When you transfer over to your new domain you need to set your router to port forward all requests for port 25 to the software then set the software to send to your exchange box.
