  • Connection problem

I have two servers, a domain controller (CD_1) also runs exchange 2003 and a file server(FS_1), both ran 2003 server. I have a VPN tunnel connecting both servers. The problem is that if there is a power outage and the server FS_1 starts before the server CD_1, the exchange goes offline and users cannot connect to outlook. I stop and restart the exchange services, nothing happens. I finally shutdown the FS_1 server and restart the CD_1 server inorder for the services to run, after which I start the FS_1 server and all is good.
Has anyone ever come across this senario, or can someone help resolve my problem.

    regards,

    Matthew

    Re: Connection problem

I think that if you change the time out in boot.ini of the Exchange server to be for example 120 Sec. then the Exchange server will start and every thing should be ok.
Also, please install another DC (not on the Exchange server) as set it as
GC + DNS + install a nice UPS for each server (APC Smart UPS 1500 for example).
